Skinney Medspa Is The Ideal One-Stop-Shop For Aesthetic ‘Tweakments’

Over the last two decades, the field of medical aesthetics has grown exponentially due to growing consumer demand and continuous advancements in technologies used for non-invasive procedures for the face and body. In the United States alone, the non-invasive aesthetic market was valued at $52.57 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach over $150.6 billion by 2030.

“SKINNEY Medspa was founded in 2010 – at a time when the beauty & wellness space was very small,” Adriana tells me. “Our goal was to launch a beauty brand that was focused on non-invasive treatments for the face & body in a luxurious setting. We wanted clients to relax and thoroughly enjoy their experience, all while only offering treatments and technology that were very results oriented.” When I ask the sisters what makes their aesthetic destination different from others in the space, Marisa responds, “SKINNEY Medspa is the leading provider of non-invasive therapies for the face and body in the nation. The ladies, who started in one room in a doctor’s office and organically grew from there and now have three locations in New York City, and two others located in Bal Harbour, Florida and Houston, Texas and are 100-percent family-owned and operated. Three of the properties are located within Saks Fifth Avenue, which I wanted to know how they secured.

“We were fortunate to be selected for the first Saks Fifth Avenue Wellery in 2017. After a successful run with the other beauty vendors, we were excited to be asked to join Saks permanently on their new Beauty 2.0 floor in 2018. The partnership has been synergistic as Saks Fifth Avenue is the one-stop shop for everything luxury and SKINNEY is a one-stop destination for beauty and wellness,” responds Marisa. “We’ve recently grown our partnership by adding the French cult favorite skin care Biologique Recherche skincare, as well as the newest laser-based body contouring technology EON and recently launched injectables such as Botox and Juvederm inside of Saks.”

What makes SKINNEY Medspa the perfect one-stop-shop for highly specialized skin and body treatments is the vast array of technologies they offer their clients. “Right now, Morpheus8 is a new, highly requested treatment that combines micro-needling with radiofrequency to tighten and resurface the skin to return it to a more youthful and healthy state. Clients typically receive 4 treatments over the course of 4 months – with little to no downtime post-treatment,” shares Adriana. “We are also excited to have recently launched EON, the world’s first fully robotic, heat-based treatment that reduces areas of stubborn fat without ever touching the skin. It uses smart technology to scan the body and create a treatment plan that is customized for the client.”

With so many technologies currently available and new technologies coming to the market regularly, I wanted to know how the ladies choose which aesthetic device manufactures to choose to offer to their clients. “Our management team has over 50 years of combined experience in the esthetics industry. Having watched the industry and technology evolve and change over the years, we have a discerning eye for which technology we feel would be right for our clients—and we try each and every treatment to ensure comfort, efficacy, and results before acquiring any new treatments or technology,” explains Marisa. “Recently we tried TruSculpt & TruSculpt ID and really loved the treatment & results. As a somewhat lazy beauty consumer, I love that SKINNEY Medspa has so many technologies under one roof, which makes a visit to this aesthetic destination incredibly convenient. With their eyes always on the future, the sisters just expanded their flagship store in the Flatiron district to include Skinney Wellness. “We have partnered with some of the best brands in the country, including Clean Market NutriDrip to offer IV Drips and Booster shots,” Marisa tells me. “We will also be launching SKINNEY Academy which will be an online and in-person continuing education center for medical aesthetic professionals looking to take their careers to the next level.
